Each piece is hand fabricated utilizing traditional metalsmithing techniques. These methods ensure that every piece is truly a unique entity, and built to pass down to future generations. Made-to-order pieces require a fabrication time of 3-4 weeks. I appreciate your patience during this process as I am a one person studio.
Naked silver pieces can be polished with a polishing cloth to bring back the luster.
Pieces treated with a chemical (oil slick) patina are then sealed with a microcrystalline wax. As you wear a piece, natural highlights will be created where the metal comes into contact with your skin. It is natural for patina to subtly change or diminish over time, but this process can be prolonged if care is taken.
✦ Avoid contact with water, and other liquids, which advances the breakdown of the wax seal and patina. This includes, but is not limited to, avoiding jewelry contact with hand soap, shampoo, perfume, lotion, and sweat.
✦ If you should need to clean a piece, use a dry piece of cotton or jewelry cloth to lightly buff.
✦ Please be advised that pieces with the signature oil slick patina are more delicate than those with the classic grey/black patina.
In commitment to the longevity of my pieces, I offer refinishing service for a small fee. Refinish includes cleaning, polishing, fresh patina, and a new wax seal. Turn around for refinishing is 1-2 weeks. Email email@example.com to take advantage of this service.
